How Jira automation works
Meeting happens
Your standup or planning call runs on Google Meet, Teams, or async in Slack.
Scrummer listens
AI identifies action items, decisions, and blockers in real time.
Tickets created
Jira tickets are auto-created, assigned, and added to the right sprint.
Team notified
A summary with all new tickets is posted to Slack so everyone stays aligned.
Full Jira automation, not just ticket creation
From meetings to Slack to sprint reviews — Scrummer keeps Jira up to date automatically.
Tickets from meetings — automatically
Scrummer joins your Google Meet or Teams call, transcribes the discussion, and creates Jira tickets for every action item identified — without anyone lifting a finger.
Create tickets from Slack
Message the Scrummer bot in Slack: "Create a bug ticket for the login timeout issue, assign it to Priya, P1." It's done in seconds.
Update existing tickets
Change status, add comments, reassign, or update estimates on Jira tickets directly from Slack or meeting context — no context switching to Jira required.
Blocker → ticket in one step
When Scrummer detects a blocker in a standup, it can instantly turn it into a Jira ticket, assign it to the right person, and add it to the active sprint.
Sprint digest emails
Every Monday morning, get an automated email summarizing your sprint: open tickets, blockers, ticket progress, and upcoming deadlines — pulled live from Jira.
Natural language Jira queries
Ask "What tickets is the team working on?" or "What's in this sprint?" and get an instant answer without opening Jira.
Common questions
Does it create Jira tickets automatically without prompting?
Yes, in two ways. For live meetings, Scrummer joins the call, identifies action items, and creates tickets automatically after the meeting. For standups, blockers and action items get tickets created immediately. You can also trigger ticket creation manually from Slack.
Can I update existing Jira tickets from Slack?
Yes. You can update status, priority, assignee, add comments, and change estimates on any Jira ticket directly from a Slack message to the Scrummer bot. Example: "Update PROJ-42, change status to In Review."
Which Jira projects can it access?
Scrummer connects to Jira via OAuth and respects your Jira permission model. It only accesses projects that the authenticated user has permission to access.
Does it work with Jira Cloud and Jira Server?
Yes, Scrummer supports Jira Cloud. Jira Server/Data Center support is available on the Enterprise plan — contact us for details.
What does a ticket it creates look like?
Tickets are created with a title derived from the action item, a description including meeting context, an assignee (inferred or explicit), priority (inferred from language), and sprint assignment. All fields are editable after creation.
